I. Definition
According to Domestika, the mood board is a collection of digital or physical collages of ideas, a whole world of colors and shapes normally used in the fields of interior design, fashion, and graphic design. It can contain photographs, designs, illustrations, color palettes, textures, and riptide concepts. Zita Chocarro, the founder of Hamabi Design, suggests that the top three places a person should go to search for elements for their piece of creativity are Pinterest, Tumblr, and Instagram.

My very first mood board(s) was introduced in my ๐๐๐น๐พ๐ถ ๐ซ๐พ๐๐ธ๐ฝ, which I said is "full of ideas but didn't know how to put them" - so that is why instead of putting them into one, I spilled them to two! Each of them stands for how I imagine my main protagonists would look, talk like, and vibe-likes,... therefore two should give out two completely different feelings. As one I tend to make it more messy and more of a collage, the female lead's ones are neat while also having fewer colors.
̣ Later on, as I added more to my blog, I started to give my audiences a better understanding of my words. Starts with the "๐๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ต๐ ๐ด๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐ถ๐๐" analysis full of photos, collections, songs, and GIF, the more visual my blog looks, the better the understanding of those who read it. So I believe in the magic of illustration, and I try to include it in every path I set my foot in. For instance, in my "๐ข๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐น๐๐ถ๐" post, every idea has its own mood board, and the chosen one converts the happiness in the main protagonists' happy relationship - however, I think that is not a very good one, as it can focus on how the opening scene to interpret what should the audience should be expected.

As I was brainstorming for the opening scene of my romance film, I realized that I needed to create a mood board to help me visualize the kind of emotions and tone I wanted to convey. The process of creating the mood board was a meticulous one. I spent hours scouring the internet for images of couples in different settings, as well as pictures of different lighting and color schemes that would help set the right mood. I also added some descriptive words and phrases that captured the essence of the story and the characters, such as "passionate embrace," "gentle caress," "sultry gaze," and "longing sighs."
The images of couples in different settings helped me to visualize the different scenarios that the characters would find themselves in, while the color schemes and lighting helped me to create the right atmosphere for each scene. The descriptive words and phrases, on the other hand, helped me to capture the emotions and feelings that the characters would experience throughout the film.
However, there are others. While I was working on my screenplay, I felt that the mood board I had created for the opening scene didn't quite capture the emotions and tone that I wanted to convey. So, I decided to revisit my mood board and see how I could improve it.
After analyzing my current mood board, I realized that it was too warm-toned and lacked the depth I was looking for. I wanted to convey a sense of yearning, longing, and melancholy in the opening scene, and the current mood board didn't quite capture that.
To improve my mood board, I started searching for images with cooler tones, such as blues and grays, to convey a sense of sadness and longing. I also looked for more descriptive photos that could capture the emotions and feelings of the characters.
As I added these new elements to my mood board, I could feel the difference. The images were more evocative, and the overall tone was much more in line with what I wanted to convey in the opening scene. It took some time to find the right images, but the end result was worth it.
After asking around, I have observed that people tend to prefer the first result over the second, even if the second result is more accurate to the mood. This can happen for several reasons. For example, the first result might be more familiar as romance movies show the happiness of two characters or people tend to love warm tones and feelings, while the second result requires more effort to comprehend and not as aesthetic.
In my opinion, it is important to prioritize accuracy over beauty. Even though it may be tempting to stick with what we know, it is essential to challenge ourselves and seek out the most accurate information. When it comes to decision-making, relying on accurate information is crucial, as it can impact our lives in significant ways.
Of course, this is not to say that familiarity should be completely disregarded. It is essential to strike a balance between familiarity and accuracy, as both are essential in making informed decisions. If I must choose between the two, I am not sure if I can always prioritize accuracy and take the time to understand the correct result, as the first one reflects the beautiful feelings of the story.
